I discovered recently a fantastic tool to send personalized cards using internet -- no, I don't mean not those electronic cards everybody sends, but real greetings cards via regular mail.

• all that for less than $1 per card!

I am big on greeting cards. Personal notes have awesome power and I try to send a lot of them. The problem is that it is time consuming to write those cards and address them by hand and to put a stamp and to mail them... So, until recently even though I send every day a few cards, I was not sending nearly as many as I'd like to.

So I was looking for some kind of system that would make it easier. Actually it became one of my top priorities to improve my stay-in-touch system. Then I got this message from my friend Willie who wrote...

...instead of just sending emails, I often send my offers to clients and prospects in a greeting card. This is especially the case when I'm selling big ticket items. For example, many of the items I sell for $997 - $2997 pay 50% commission. So I send select prospects a greeting card where I offer a discount, valuable bonuses, or perhaps a rebate. The greeting card system allows you to upload a digital image to the card. While many people are just using photos of people, I'm using graphics of discount coupons. It works beautifully.

The fact is that I get a response rate more than ten times higher with a greeting card than I do when I send the same message in an email. Yes, the email costs nothing to send, and the greeting card costs me 98 cents. However, if you aren't getting a response from your email, nothing from nothing equals NO SALE.

Here's the thing... this greeting card system allows you to upload a database. So you can pull up a list of past customer, subscribers, whoever, and then import them into the system. Then you can assign them all to a "group" and send that entire group the SAME greeting card. The system will allow you to personalize each card by inserting tags (such as their name). This works much like an autoresponder system, except that it sends out real greeting cards. In fact, you can set up a series of cards (a campaign) and then subscribe individual or entire groups to that series of cards all set to go out at a predetermined timing.

They print the card and mail it for less than a dollar. That is definitely less than the cost of a greeting card from a regular store! Quality greeting cards elsewhere cost on average three dollar each -- you can get the cost down to about two bucks if you buy in bulk and limit your choice of variety.

Then I got one of those greetings cards from Willie . It was a beautiful card with one of my favorite quotes by Maya Angelou: "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel".

That personal message from Willie made me feel pretty good :-)
So, good had to investigate it right away!

Guess what. It was even better than I expected. Much better than I expected. Huge selection. I got so impressed that I signed up right away.

One of the things I like about this system is the flexibility. So often when i'm buying a card in the store, I like the front of the card but the message inside is not appropriate for my occassion. Here I can change the message and put in that space any text I want - or any image. Pictures from my own files that an be uploaded to the card system! WOW!!!!

But there is more to it than just the ability to upload your database and create a systemized follow up schedule... More than the large selection of high qualitycards... And more than the great price .... The neatest thing is that you can create your own font - so, even though those cards are sent automatically, the message is in your own handwriting style! Just like the sample card at the top of this page is looks exactly like my own handwriting.
